Commissioned by St. Michaels, FIRMA was tasked with designing and constructing an arts facility within a heritage building. The project focused on revitalising the existing structure, carefully balancing the addition of contemporary amenities with the preservation of the building's historic character. The outcome is a space that improves functionality while maintaining the integrity of the heritage aesthetics that define its surroundings.

Project Overview

In this project, an existing art building with nine classrooms underwent a significant transformation. Four large partition walls, supported by structural steel, were removed to create expansive, open-plan classrooms. The renovation included new custom joinery, vinyl flooring, and upgraded air conditioning, electrical, and data systems. The result is a revitalised art space that fosters creativity and encourages interactive learning, providing a dynamic environment for students to explore their artistic potential.
